Property Taxes Payments - 2012
Property Tax payments are due in full by Oct. 29, 2012 @ 5 p.m.

Dog Licenses
Due by April 1 of each year - $10 for neutered/spayed animals or $12 for non-neutered/ non-spayed animals.  Price increases to $12 or $16 after April 1.  All dogs must be registered with the Town of Highgate.

Marriage and Civil Union Licenses
At least one party must be a resident of the Town of Highgate or both parties must be from out-of-state. Blood tests are not required.  License fee is $45 plus $10 if you would like a certified copy.  License will be valid for 60 days from date of issue.   http://healthvermont.gov/research/records/documents/Civil_Marriage_Application_071309_Final.pdf

GreenMountain Passports
Green Mountain Passports are available to residents 62 or older, and to those considered disabled by the Vermont Veterans Administration. The $2 lifetime passport is valid immediately; holders are eligible for free admission to state parks and museums, and reduced prices by private businesses.     http://www.ddas.vermont.gov/ddas-resources/ddas-resources-documents/resources-aging-document/grn-mtn-passport-info-sheet

Research Land Records
Deeds, mortgages, liens, etc. are on file at the Town Clerk's office. Copies may be obtained at $1 per page. There is $10 recording fee per page to record documents in the land records with the Town of Highgate.

Motor Vehicle Registration Renewals
Cars, trucks, boats, trailers, etc. may be registered (renewals only) at the Highgate Town Clerk’s office.  Bring your renewal notice and a check or money order made out to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the amount of your renewal. There is a $3 fee payable to the Town of Highgate for this service (cash or check for the $3 fee).

Voter Checklist Application
You must be a resident of the town and at least 18 years of age to become a registered voter.

Copies of Vital Records
Certified copies of birth, death, and marriage records on file are available.  We issue certified copies only @ $10 each PAGE.  Genealogy searches are welcome and shall be performed by the researcher.

Notarize Documents 
The Town Clerk is an official notary public.  This is a free service.

Copies & Faxes
Photocopies of your personal documents are $.25 cents per page.  Faxes are free.
